About the Program

Dandelion Arts Finance Program is a trusted collective care resource hub and finance training program where artists and cultural workers grow economic power and stability, with a focus on communities most impacted by a lack of culturally-responsive and -relevant arts finance training, specifically Indigenous, Black, disabled, trans, queer, immigrant, low income, and POC artists, mediamakers, and arts administrators. We believe in the power of a peer network co-creating accessible, relevant materials that anyone can use.

The three components of the program are:

Mission

Grounded in ancestral wisdom, peer-led learning, and solidarity work, we aim to break down barriers and open up financial possibilities for artists, mediamakers, and arts administrators to forge a more sustainable path.

Vision

Dandelion builds bridges for nurturing liberated futures, demystifying money, and composting systems that no longer serve us. With this interconnected foundation, we can transform our relationship to money—reclaiming it as a force for healing, safety, creative risk-taking, and systemic change.

Administratively, the Dandelion Arts Finance Program is hosted by Independent Arts & Media, a San Francisco-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit. IAM’s mission is to steward and empower independent art and media projects that foster community and civic participation, and facilitate cultural engagement and free expression.
